Being in the military can be a lot. A lot of moves, a lot of forever friendships, a lot of hard, a lot of adventures, a lot of starting over.
We know what it’s like to be at a military installation on the 4th of July, listening to the Star Spangled Banner, seeing Soldiers in uniform, your breath catching in your throat as you sing about the brave and see them surrounding you.
But then we also know what it’s like to send them to war.
We try to balance all of the gifts of the military with all of the demands but sometimes instead feel like we’re falling over.
We try to keep our eyes focused on just doing the next thing instead of jumping ahead and worrying about the deployment or the move or the promotion. We get distracted by the thousand details demanding our attention and just try to survive the chaos and silence the fear.
What if there could be a better way?
Courageous Grace: 30 Days of Encouragement for the Military Wife is centered around a daily devotion grounded in biblical truth that relates to a significant aspect of military life, as well as a scripture verse and corresponding prayer.
Military wives deal with a lot of stressors- from worries about their husbands’ daily safety to loneliness to moving again to fighting fear and anxiety. Courageous Grace steps into that space with military wives, gingerly carrying the pain yet offering hope in the midst of it. Sarah transparently shares stories of how her marriage and faith were deeply challenged by military hardship yet because of her authentic and deep relationship with Jesus, she saw God using those experiences to help her become more deeply who she is.
Courageous Grace will strengthen your identity in Jesus as you begin to see that through Jesus, you truly can be brave. May you begin to see that as you depend on him rather than your own abilities that you indeed, do not have enough, but that he gives his spirit without measure and through him you are covered with grace upon grace.
